Crystal Crane Hot Springs to home

I love me some hot springs! I soaked for a long time last night – in until I was stewed, out to cool off in the desert air, repeat – and got in a morning soak before I hit the road. I feel so refreshed and relaxed and pain free.

The camp is an interesting place, and it’s really hard to tell what it would be like without a biker event going on. Are they usually busy and really full? Or is it pretty quiet most of the time?

They have a string of little motel style rooms as you enter, and between the office and the rooms is a “camp kitchen.” It’s there for all the guests to use, which is very nice. It is outfitted with this old all in one unit. I think it’s so cool, and I’ve seen pictures but I’ve never seen one in person.

Heading home on Hwy 27 south of Prineville, deep in BLM country, I saw this. I felt like I traveled through a time warp!

And one last little leg stretcher on the way home. Rimrock Springs Natural area. A one mile hike with nice views of mountains and wetlands in the high desert.
